A break from the normA break from the norm

Celia has just turned three, and although whoever invented the phrase 'threenager' was thinking of her when they said it she can be ridiculously cute, and yesterday she did some cute things! I've entitled this a break from the norm because usually I waffle about slings today it's only vaguely sling related! (I'm not implying that Celia being cute is a break from the norm, although some days it does feel like it!)

I get to sleep in later in the mornings, which is a hang over from when I was up constantly in the night with her (it's only been hung over a fews days so far though...), I was greeted with "Mummy come and see my fish car!", unfortunately Celia won't let me take pictures of her so I'll have to describe it. She had a placemat with fish on it on the floor, there was a teddy driving in front, George and timmy (soft toys) ere sat at the back (George even had a ribbon on as a seat belt) and a picnic basket was behind them in the boot. Celia sat in the middle as the mummy and held her dolly and off they went to Tesco (we really need to go to soem more interesting places!)

She's never been one of life's sleepers but the night before she had stunned us. over the monitor we heard sounds of what seemed to be furniture being shifted around, we figured ti was just next door but when I went up to bed she had fallen out fo bed. Normally this would signal the end of a peaceful night, she'd wake up, be miserab;e and difficult to settle and would basically cling to us like a limpet. But there she was asleep on the floor, so I went to get Himself to deal with it. Downstairs we had a five minute discussion over do we move her (me: if we leave on the floor she'll wake up, besides, she's on the floor, you can't sleep on the floor!) or leave her be (Himself: if we move her she'll wake up!). Eventuually I persuaded Himself that I was, as usual, correct and we trooped upstairs for the great Celia shift. After a confused mintue of staring att he floor I realised she'd climbed back into bed and gone back to sleep without us. She has NEVER done that before!

Later in the day she decided to give me a run for my money in the slingist stakes, apparantly I demo rather too much as she got her dolly wrap and announced "I shall teach you how to may tie (sic)" After w worrying couple of minutes of her wrapping it round her neck she stuffed her dolly (Lowri) in (Front facing out! I didn't like to have the discussion about how babies really should always face inward it seemed like it might dampen her enthusiasm!) and er, she fell straight out the bottom, clearly I need to demo more! ;-)

So there we go, recorded for posterity (and times when I feel an urge to lock myself in the bathroom) proof that she is rather cute after all!
